View in sheet

Open the data behind any chart in a live, governed sheet — the seamless handoff from a dashboard to local verification and deeper analysis.

A dashboard answers "what happened". Verifying and digging into it usually means pulling the numbers into a spreadsheet. View in sheet does that in one click, without breaking governance: the sheet is bound to the same query as the chart, so it stays live, row-level-security-scoped, and never a stale copy pasted out of the tool.

This is the bridge from dashboard to local verification and insights: see a figure, open its data, reconcile it, and go further — calculated columns, cell formulas, cross-sheet references — all in the Sheets workbook, still governed by the same access rules.

#From a chart

Hover a chart tile and open its ⋯ menu:

• View underlying data — the detail rows behind the chart's current, filtered view (the same drill modal a mark's menu opens).
• View in sheet — creates a new sheet bound to the chart's query and opens it. The grid computes from the warehouse on open, so it reflects live data.

The ⋯ menu is chart-scoped. To get a sheet of just one value, click that mark and choose View in sheet from its menu: the new sheet is the chart's query narrowed to the mark you clicked.

#From the underlying rows

When you're looking at the underlying rows of a drilled selection, choose View in sheet there too. The new sheet is the chart's query narrowed to exactly the slice you drilled into — for example the one region and month you clicked — so you land on the records that make up the value, ready to work with.

#What you get

• A governed, live sheet: nothing is frozen. The grid re-derives from the warehouse under your identity and access filters, exactly like the chart.
• A normal workbook — bind more models, add calculated columns and formulas, then share it with your team.

Because the sheet holds the query (not a snapshot), reopening it always shows current data — no re-export when the numbers change.
